Gamemaster's Note
A PBeM fantasy campaign is only as good as its players. In that regard I count myself very fortunate indeed, since what follows would have been immeasurably poorer without the contributions of (in alphabetical order) Jeff Mejia (Anteus), Wayne Morrow (Sarrencius), Jon Potter (Sittius), Thulsa (Tamas) and last but by no means least the gorgeous (well, we all think so) and supremely talented Tirellia (Angelina of Brythunia). Guys and gal, I take my hat off to you all. May your swash never buckle.
The sharp-eyed and well-read amongst you may notice that in places I've borrowed rather liberally (and in some places almost word-for-word) from others who wield a pen with far more skill and imagination than I possess. I make no apologies for that - I do this for love not money, and I'm not too proud to borrow another's prose if it will improve the tale that I'm about to tell.
